Pathfinder Canada provides the elder community and their families with certified professional services in personal and family coaching, conflict resolution and grief specialization.

Professional Coaching on:

ABUSE of a SENIOR by FAMILY and/or CAREGIVER: can seriously affect everyone involved. Our services aim to arrive at a resolution of the matter in a discrete, confidential and respectful manner, and possibly save and/or restore relationships.

POWERS of ATTORNEY and YOUR ESTATE EXECUTOR: There are two different Powers of Attorney, one for property/finance and one for health. One of the most important choices you will ever have to make as your life will later depend on it. We can explain why in plain language and help you clarify your thoughts so you will make the right choice for you and your family – with confidence and peace of mind. This will assist your lawyer in reviewing your wishes and preparing the necessary legal documentation.

UNRESOLVED ISSUES of CONFLICT with your family or friends can cause stress and concern. As your Conflict Coach we can work with you on options of reducing the stress in your life and /or resolving the particular issue in a confidential, safe, and mutually respectful manner.  Everyone’s views will be heard equally and objectively, reducing the obstacles to proper communication.

DOWNSIZING: Transitioning your parent(s) into a Retirement or Long Term Care Residence can be  a highly sensitive issue that can wound and fragment a family for a lifetime. The intervention of an experienced neutral third party with a choice of solutions can make all the difference in peacefully resolving these personal and complex issues.

END of LIFE ARRANGEMENTS are far too important to postpone and ideally, these matters are best discussed with a knowledgeable and neutral third party. We can set up a plan with you, to review later with the family to avoid confusion or misunderstanding. Being prepared is a small investment in such a significant matter, especially at a time when you may not be in condition to make these decisions for yourself.

CAREGIVER BURNOUT: Looking after your loved one is one of the most demanding, complex and misunderstood jobs anyone can do. One can feel overworked, overwhelmed, under appreciated and all alone. We can provide realistic strategies to reduce the pressure and help you regain your strength, resilience and stamina to look after yourself as well as your loved one.

GRIEF and LOSS: We understand the feelings of helplessness the loss of a loved one can cause. We work with the family and or grieving spouse to resolve the pain of separation. As grief specialists

DEMENTIA or ALZHEIMER: These diseases can cause fear, sadness and loss in the lives of those closest to the person afflicted with this condition. There are over 100 different kinds of Dementia. We can help prepare and transition a family dealing with the daily challenges of this disease.

INTERDISCIPLINARY CO-OPERATION: When issues exceed our specialized services,  we consult other professionals such as: Doctors, Lawyers, Accountants, Financial Advisors, Clergy or Community Societies and Services.
